Dear Parents and Players,
 
Welcome to LA West Starlings Volleyball Club. We look forward to your participation with our organization in the 2008-2009 season. As a non-profit chapter of USA Starlings Volleyball Club, we work diligently to keep our club fees at $500.00. Unfortunately, with the unstable economy, as a non-profit organization, we are no longer able to secure a practice facility at no charge.
 
I am saddened to report that in order to secure the Westside YMCA facility, all LA West Starlings Players must register as YMCA members for a monthly fee of $25.00. Unfortunately, as a non-profit organization, LA West Starlings cannot support the monthly fee for each player without increasing our club dues. However, we have negotiated with the YMCA to have the registration fee waived for each player. YMCA Membership Director Anne Ullstrom will meet with families that have two or more players on the club that may qualify for a lower payment option based on household income. The parents of those players will need to meet with Anne at their earliest convenience. Anne’s phone number is 310-477-1511. Also, families who may have difficulty in paying the $25.00 monthly fee may contact Anne to see if they also qualify for a lower payment option.
 
LA West will hold its first practice on Sunday, December 7th, 2008 and the first club dues installment payment will be due at that time. Families with more than one player will receive a discount for each additional child on the club. 
 
If you would like to receive a copy of each form needed for player registration, please email us at laweststarlings@sbcglobal.net and we will send the forms necessary to register each player with SCVA, Starlings and the YMCA. Please complete each form and bring them to our first practice.
 
We hope you will elect to participate in our volleyball club and look forward to seeing you on Sunday, December 7th, 2008 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. Players will need to bring a great attitude and something to drink to practice.
